My name is Abdikarim, and I'm leading the Public Speaking Club as well as other Science related initiatives within the Academy. I am the recipient of the prestigious 2016 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. The Vanier Scholarship is not only the top scholarship (worth $150K) in the country but is awarded by the Canadian government to the top 55 graduate students in the country. I completed my Masters of Science degree with an average of 95% at York University in the Muscle Health Research Centre. Currently, I am a PhD student in the prestigious Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto and I conduct research alongside a world-renowned surgeon in Burns. Though public speaking is reported as the general public’s greatest fear, we will work with your child to ensure that their confidence shines while standing in front of a room. Public speaking is an essential skill for STEM leaders of tomorrow, as the way in which ideas are delivered is often as important as the quality of the ideas themselves. I specifically have over 6yrs worth of experience in this area, since one of my major roles as a scientist is giving national and international talks on my research and findings to the general public, medical doctors, and scientists. I look forward to working with your child and sharing all the skills and tips that I have amassed in my journey to mould them into successful speakers. Whether they suffer from stage fright or are already experienced public speakers, we will customize the curriculum to fit every student's needs.
BSc, MSc, PhD
