Frequently Asked Questions [FAQs]
Q: Is it required for my child to have experience with robotics or computers? What is the minimum age?
A: No. Our program is designed to teach students of ALL levels. We cater to the experience level for each individual by speeding up or slowing down the pace of our program, based on their learning abilities and skills. For this reason, the minimum age is 6 years old.
Q: What is the mentor to student ratio?
A: On average, our ratio is one mentor for every 5 students. The students will be working in groups of 2 to 4 on different tasks provided for them by our group of mentors. They will have the assistance of a mentor available to them at all times.
Q. What time can I come in?
A. Our club meets on Saturdays between 10:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. Each student comes in for a two hour block within those times. Upon registration we will determine a time that works best for both your family and our team.
Q. Can my child try the club before registering?
A. Absolutely! We offer a 1 hour free trial to all interested students.
Q: What is the refund policy?
A: There is a monthly fee for student enrollment into our club. This fee is collected at the beginning ofeach month and is non-refundable. If you wish to cancel your membership, please let us know before the end of the enrolled month.
Q: Do you have a team for the First Lego League?
A: Yes! Throughout the year we watch our club members and track their progress, as well as their ability to work well with others. If we feel that a student would be a good match for our team, and would excel in this kind of competition and environment, then a spot would be made available for them on the next season’s team, if interested.
Q: I have a teenager who has been involved at his/her school in robotics, can they come volunteer?
A: Yes, give us a call and we will have a short interview with them to see what level they are at and in what way we can make their experience the best fit for them.
Q. What other robotics programs do you offer?
A. Our full list of offered robotics programs include: a Robotics Club (Saturdays); FLL Club; and Robotics Courses at multiple private schools.
Q. Do you offer anything other than robotics?
A. Yes. We offer Math and English tutoring for SK to Grade 12, as well as Physics & Chemistry tutoring for Grades 11 & 12. Contact our centre director for details on a free evaluation!
